    Hi Advanpro,

It's simple, just follow Google's Webmaster Guidelines, and stick with Google recommended promotional methods.

    Hi,

There is a lot of stuff that you can do without risk of a "slap", but you need to know where to start (assessing the current site), figure out where you want to go and then you need to make a plan. It's very hard to know what to do without first assessing the site and what has already been done.

For the first part you can do one of two things. You can analyze their anchor text and insert the ones that have the highest % into google and see if that page shows up for the term.
Or secondly you can go to google suggestion tool and there's an option there to see what keywords are relevant to the site. And just like before, in insert those in google search box to see if the page is ranking for it. Then you can approximate the traffic.

As for individual sources of traffic you can try something like alexa but I find that not to be very accurate.
