Why am I on page 3 on google.co.uk and not google.com

Title says it all.....why am I ranked on page 3 for google.co.uk but on google.com im nowhere to be found on the first 10 pages!

Anyone know why? I am based in the UK but im heading towards the US market

    I would guess your hosting server is in the UK and your backlinks are mostly UK too. google factors them in when ranking you.

    I would get hosting in the US (hostgator) and US backlinks.

      Check for the following things;

      Are you using a .co.uk domain?
      Have you included a UK address on your site?
      Is the site hosted in the UK?
      Are most of you backlinks from UK sites/
      Have you set the Geo Targeting in Google Webmaster Tools to Unitied Kingdom?

      If any of the above are yes then that's the cause. Also keep in mind it usually takes a lot more juice to rank on .com compared to .co.uk so that could also be the answer.

    Comes from a few things:
    1. Location setting in Google Webmaster tools
    2. Location of hosting
    3. Location of links towards keywords. (So if you have a ton of UK based links, then you show up on the UK google search but hardly rank on others)

    Ive just changed my geographical target market in webmaster tools to United States.
    My hosting server is based on a UK server.....but im going to change this over now.
    There is no UK address on my site.
    Its a .net domain

    Are you receiving personalised results from Google.co.uk and truthfully you're not ranked anywhere yet?

    Use a proxy if you aren't, for example, check your site using:

    Hidemyass.com
