Ok, I've done my own SEO stuff for blogs in the past and what not, but i'm trying something different and want to advertise a new site I have for Kindle authors/publishers to help review and rate each others work on Amazon.

Anyways, I keep bumping up my Max CPC and it says I'm still below first page rank. Is this critical to be on first page?? At the rate and budget I've allowed for I'll be lucky to get 2 clicks before each daily campaign is over.

This is my first time advertising with AdWords and I have the idea down, but implementing what works is beyond my abilities right now. Anyone help, please?

Are you talking about the position of your adwords ad? Or, the position of your website within the search engine results page? Because buying adwords ads has nothing to do with your serps position.

I was thinking this related to prominence of ad being displayed relative to search results? it seems like i keep raising my bid and Google is telling me I'm not gonna get any results

Before you flush all of your money down the proverbial toilet, may I suggest the following....

Download "The Definitive Guide to Google AdWords"!
This is not an affiliate link (honest) and I still refer to this, 3 years after I first got it. I have read it 3 times. Excellent content and Perry know his s**t.

Hi, I hope this helps you. Just go to campaign settings tab and check Locations, Languages and most importantly check Budget and Bidding Option. In Bidding Option try this strategy, click edit and select following, Focus on clicks - use maximum CPC bids and then AdWords will set my bids to help maximise clicks within my target budget and then set CPC bid limit as one USD or one Euro whatever your currency is and Budget as some 5 or 10/day. and Next just make sure you are not using broad match keywords. Use Phrase match better. Reply me if it works or i am ready to help you with any other idea. let us make this work..

No worry my friend it happens in first time when you run your campaign in google search.

If your ads are ranking in first page of google or not on top position. First check your keywords quality score.
Second Ads Impression position by Google Analytic.

Check and let me know if you got this message.

  • Lisobo,

CPC of particular keywords can be a shock sometimes for first time users. Some of the most expensive words in the industry are for insurance and loans. Some can exceed 60 dollars per click. The warning that appears next to a keyword letting you know your bid is below the first page bid means that yes, your ad is not showing on the first page because your bid is too low (all else being equal). There are things you can do to get your ads to appear higher however bid amount is still a factor sometimes. If after all other optimization techniques have been exhausted, you will have to bump up the Max CPC to get the exposure you are looking for.

As mentioned by another member, you should read the Definitive Guide to Adwords

Download "The Definitive Guide to Google AdWords"!

There are also some good tips in the Google Awords learning center,

    Hope that helps,

      Hi Lisobo,

There is so much more to understand about AdWords that you have yet to learn.

Yes, you do need to get your ads onto the first page if you plan to do much business. However, how much it will cost to get onto page one is determined by how well you do keyword research, how well you structure campaigns within your account, and how well written your ads are. Those are some of the things you should be focused on when initially setting up your first campaign.

      https://support.google.com/adwords/c...cs&guide=23809

It will take plenty of time to learn the many things you will need to know before you can master your AdWords campaign management. But hang in there, persevere and you will have a very valuable skill.

I think you should sue the Adword editor. Learn it properly and then think about investing.
Remember that Adword is a very confusing and competitive service so you have to be so much careful about it.

The #1 metric to look at is your Quality Score. Google hides it by default. Navigate to the Keywords tab and then click "Columns> Customize". Under Attributes, you should find Quality Score.

If your Quality Score is <7, you will end up paying more per click.
