Google penalty question....

Does the google penalty for bad backlinks fade over time? I read somewhere on here about a 6 month time frame.

One of my sites got hit back in late April and we are now approaching that 6 month time frame. I didn't get any official notice about anything, it just got hit from the penguin update.

Thoughts?

Or does Google reevaluate penalized websites and give them another chance once deemed as quality website?

you have to clean up your bad backlinks and file for a reconsideration to google afterwards. However the possibility of cleaning up all those bad backlinks can take up time.

You are in deep misunderstanding mate.Penalties are not going to fade itself unless you take steps to recover from it.Start your quality work if you haven't started yet.

No they don't fed automatically. you have to remove the crappy links. and then de index your site from Google. Then you have to index your site again. that's the process. then you have to wait until your site get verified by Google.
