Myth: RED Background Increase your Adsense CTR by 300%

I heard some adsense pros said having a RED color background can make people to focus more on the adsense ads and content? Hence getting higher CTR by 300%, is this true? Anyone experts can answer?

    I'm not a guru or expert here but the reason there probably is that the red color is really striking and hard on the eyes... so I guess the viewer might just click the ad to get out of the page/site.

    so decrease in ranking ^ losing you adsense acc .

      Bad for eyes? Hrm I saw a lot of adsense sites using this method? Is this effective way to let visitor focus on the ads?

    This site is looking like an Made for Adsense sites which can lead towards low CTR and low payments per click. You should add more contents in your site and make less adsense channels. It will increase your adsense earning.

    Oh and PLEASE by all MEANS, add a privacy policy, and a contact page ASAP. Or else you are OUT OF THERE and I don't want to see you in the forums all bummed out that you got banned form Adsense.

    You do realize that site is going to get you banned from Adsense sooner or later, not to mention it leaves quite a bit to be desired.

      You don't need a contact page...but seriously.
      You now have nothing but adsense ads above the fold.
      I'm all for not misquoting google on the ads above the fold
      myth, but they have always had this TOS: You should
      not make people scroll down to view any content. Else
      your ads may be considered content. That's always been
      against the rules.

      You can tweak the ads so you can use all 3 ads above the
      fold. I do it one a couple of sites. It works.

      And let's still toss some logic in there. Tons of big sites
      use adsense, granted as google partners so it's not the
      same, but rarely, if ever, do I see a red background. They
      almost always use white, black, or a light shade of grey/blue.

      When people talk about an increase in adsense earnings,
      and I don't give a hoot about CTR, they should first talk
      about getting massive amounts of targeted traffic. Then
      tweak the content, ad placement, colors, etc.

      Just saying that a red background gets a 300% better CTR
      is hogwash.

      Besides, what good is a 300% increase in CTR when you have
      been dumped to the garbage bin because advertisers are fleeing from your
      sunburned site?

      You have obviously taken a tactic that many people love.
      Self promoting their site under the guise of some tutorial or
      "check me out" BS.

      A simple sig link will suffice. Fly under the radar if you must...

      But then, I would never in a brazilian years let people here know
      what my adsense sites are...just saying...

      I guess we are trying to beat the EMD "algo" as well...ROTFLMAO...

      BTW: I would not quit my day job...

        But above the fold is what many adsense guide mentioned, however after panda update, google like ads below the fold. So you mean by tweaking the ads and the content above the fold? I agree big website like about.com use grey or white background instead of red.

        EMD algo, just don't over-optimize your website content you will still rank well. As EMD has too much weight.
