What are those big ugly buttons on my (and everybody elses) adsense ads? Did I miss something? They look awful.

This is what I'm seeing (Laptop). This is a 160x600. 1 ad and the large button. The 336 ad also has one ad and the large button, on all adsense sites.

That's the current standard display of Adsense on iOS devices (probably others too). Maybe you're running a browser user agent switcher that you forgot to turn off ? Maybe it's just a bug that detects your particular laptop as a tablet or something. Try another browser.

  • I have seen such buttons before in some others sites. Was not sure about them. I though it is a trick by the webmasters to increase the click in ads.

I've noticed the big Adsense buttons on a few sites, running Chrome. If I open the same Adsense pages in IE I don't see any buttons on the Adsense Ads.

Looking at my own pages on my sites in Chrome I don't see any buttons on the Adsense Ads.

They disappeared for me today. All ad blocks had only one ad and a big button.

Now that you mention it, I tried logging into facebook and they locked my account and made me go thru a bunch of steps to prove I was me. I got an email saying someone tied to log into my account "with an unknown device" It was just me and my little old laptop. I'm using Firefox. I didn't try Chrome
