Hi,

Was just wondering if anyone could help me with this 2 questions. Tried googling for an answer but was unable to come up with one.

Firstly, regarding doing SEO for keywords, does the order of words in the keyword phase matter and does the stop words matter? Eg. buy fruits=buy fresh fruits? or buy fruits here=buy fruits?

Does doing SEO for the shorter keyword make my result appear for the longer ones or do I have to do SEO for all the keywords "buy fruits", "buy fresh fruits" and "buy fruits here" just to be ranks for all? Does plural matter as well like fruits and fruit.

Another question would be for local google search. I am ranking ok for google.com but not for google.com.sg for example. How do i start ranking for local google as well in my target markets where my customers tend to purchase from?

Any help would be much appreciated warriors...

Cheers!

As far as my thinking concern you have to do SEO of all your keywords because Keywords is very important for a website.

For your first question, think about "what would I search to find such information/content".But in your example, "buy fresh fruits" is the best option as it can target your keywords better.
      Example;
Person A searches for : where can I buy fresh fruits.Your keywords are included in the search.
Person B searches for : how to find fresh fruits. Now your keyword is fresh fruits, but will also lead to "buy fresh fruits" since the person is looking for a place to make a purchase.
This way you will drive targeted traffic.

      As for your second question, it is best to use mixed methods.Meaning in your article, you may want to use the terms;

      buy fresh fruits
      fruits
      fresh fruits
      find fresh fruits
      fresh fruits are healthy
      fresh (fruit name)

This way your targeting the same keywords in a wider point of view.Which will improve your seo dramatically.

    1. Order of the keywords is negligent, Google search wont have much impact on the order of your keywords
    2. It depends on the keyword competition you work for. In your case 'buy fruits' may be as important keywords as 'buy fresh fruits'. So you need to work on the both the keywords
    3. To improve your local search, submit your pages to local web directories and yellow pages in singapore. Another best method to improve local search is to add your place to Google+ with image. This will work more than the local map

Here's what I've learned about SEO.

The order of the words matter if all competition were equal, which they are not. You will show up on page 1 SERPs for "buy fruits" even if your page is optimized for "buy fresh fruits" IF YOU ARE AN AUTHORITY, i.e. lots of traffic, relevant back links, social interaction, Keyword and LSI keywords, etc.

Remember, Google wants to help a searcher find "good" content. So, if a site is optimized for "buy fruits" but site is thin with content, new, high bounce rate, etc., it will show the authority site even if it is not exactly optimized for "buy fruits." (Try searching yourself and see what pops up in SERPs)

If you want to rank for "buy fruits" I see NO downside to using long tail keywords involving the keyword, i.e. buy fruits here, buy fruits during peak season, never buy fruits during the end of a sale, etc.

If you are "authority" for those various long tail keywords, Google will rank you for "buy fruits." This is per a tutorial I accessed in a paid membership site.

As for the ranking for local keywords...the poster above suggestions were great, i.e. listing / back links / citations in local directories, Google+ with image, etc.

Additionally, I would say with your next client get a domain extension that is country specific, i.e AutoRepairSydney.au, or AutoRepairLosAngeles.us or AutoRepairBerlin.de

This was a tip I got from watching an interview Sarah Staar did with a local marketer.

    Hope it helped some.

I say it is best to keep the keyword in order for buy fresh fruits to keep it safe. If you know the keyword is legit and it can potentially convert, don't mess with it. Just make sure the keywords have a good search rank and they are not too competitive an you will do fine.

It's really all about both your on-page content and anchor text backlinks.

The backlinks will give Google an idea of what your site's about. So, let's say you have a backlink saying "fruits". On your page you have "fresh fruits", this will trigger both keywords.

Okay before I confuse the hell out of you, let me answer your questions according to my own knowledge.

    1. Does the order of words in the keyword phase matter?

Well, yes. But this doesn't mean that having a piece of text somewhere saying "...our fruits are fresh..." won't rank for "fresh fruits". It's all about what the majority of your backlinks suggest, as well as the overall content on the page.

    2. Does doing SEO for the shorter keyword make my result appear for the longer ones or do I have to do SEO for all the keywords?

It's better to diversify your efforts when it comes to on-page SEO as well as off-page (link building). You should always target the long tail keywords in your content. With your backlinks you can add a million variations or synonyms which will relate to your on-page content. You can rank for whatever you have in your content. If all your backlinks say "fresh fruits" but this is nowhere in your text, it's going to be nearly impossible to rank for "fresh fruits" no matter how good your backlinks are.
