Another Death of "SEO" as we know it. I got an interesting email from Ed Dale (Challenge course guy) today stating that Google released a new disavow links tool that should klll "SEO" the way we know it and that it we should be really careful about any 'gifts' that Google is giving to us.
This update should be related to 'Unnatural link" notification that many webmasters received previously and supposedly would help to eliminate those 'unnatural links'
Per Ad Dale only people who would find this tool useful (or would try to use it in the first place) are 2 kind of people: Desperate Webmasters hoping to get their ranking back (And it probably would not work) and "Negative SEO" specialists who would try to tank their competitor's websites.
Check the link if you are curious... It is pretty interesting.
Beware Google Bearing Gifts… | Ed Dale's Blog

We are probably going to get many new "The Skies are falling again" messages and posts coming.

Another interesting article I found about Negative SEO and how Google finally is ready to admit that it exists.

My take on it... I would be careful to trust Google with new update. They maybe mean good and what they are doing could be good for them, but not for regular webmaster. We are probably would see interesting new wave of Negative SEO attempts and "SEO recovery projects/ job request" coming

We live in interesting times, I think within 12 months the arena will have changed entirely. I have plenty of friends and clients who are "SEO specialists", and they are all in denial at the moment.

Well it's certainly death for all those link building companies out there. Imagine now those same companies are charging people to remove the links they put out there for them in the first place.

Not to mention you could do some nasty tactics by linking one of your doomed websites to all of the places your competitors are linking to and BAM, they slip from the serps and your other site rises to the top.

    NOBODY CAN DO THIS.

The "disavow links" tool is in YOUR webmaster tools and allows YOU to disavow links that point to YOUR site.

It does not allow you to just cancel anyone's links you want.

Spread the damn word, I've had to tell eight people this in the past couple hours. Ed Dale is an irresponsible jerk for saying something this strong about a tool he clearly does not understand yet.

Time will show how it would play out. I think we are going to havereally interesting couple months. Game would be changing.
I learn enough from Ed Dale to keep getting an updates from him in my mailbox and to be curious about things that he has to say.
He could be wrong, but I found out this new update from his email originally and appreciate the tip.
Linkbuilding would change for some folks, that's for sure. We may have some Search positions changing now. It would be good to get updates from other people if they see this update working for their site.
