What will be the future of SEO in 2013 ?

Some SEO Professional say that content marketing while other say Social Media engagement is the key. I think that both are the important factors. What you think?

A see a lot and lot less competition, right now many people don't know what to do or still doing the same thing.

  Link building is an important factor in SEO. No matter how many time Google updates their algorithms it can't be side-kicked. Search Engines now use social media to also determine the reputation of websites. Every other SEO factors follows to make a website successful.

I personally don't think Google dictates this, Google merely dictates how far they will let the stupid people go. The better you understand not just SEO but also what search engines are trying to accomplish, the better you will do and less issues you will encounter with updates.

  If in 2013 all the seo practises don't work together, the sites would not be optimized the way we want to.
  So the point is that in 2013 clasic SEO must cooperate together with social media marketing and content marketing.

2012 was the worst year for SEO and 2013 will be tougher still but those who survive this Baptism by Fire will triumph in the long run. I have been perusing what we should be doing SEO-wise and the more I read in the forum the more confused I get.
