Can anyone tell me what they recommend as the best tool to research competitors links?

Best Overall + Freshness = Majestic SEO
Best Metrics & Comparison Tools = Open Site Explorer
Unique Features + Big index = Ahrefs
Free = Link Explorer in Bing WebmasterTools

  I am using Majestic SEO in gathering links from competitors however, Open Site Explorer which is a free version (you may upgrade if you want to) is also useful. But for me Majesticseo is the best.

SpyGlass is the best, and it's not even close. On top of the databases it accesses, you can also import the links from OSE, Majestic, or Ahrefs and do a real analysis.

Problem with Majestic, OSE, and Ahrefs is they are not updated often enough. SpyGlass will actually visit the sites the links are on to see if they are still live or not.

Hi,

I suggest SEO Spyglass of Link Assistant! I am using it for more than a year now, and it is pretty awesome for me. I never tried Majestic SEO or other tools for researching backlinks of competitors.
