about disavow tool

hi guys. i putted on my website disavow tool a .txt file with over 1000 backlinks that are spammy and low pr.
but i don't know if i putted correctly. i choosed the .txt file, uploaded to google disavow tool, and click done (without clicking submit because the option was blocked).
it was correct what i did? if yes, in how many days i will see results (that google delete the backlinks) .

I personally haven't use the Disavow tool, there is a video clip on how and when to use the Disavow tool (by Matt Cutts, the head of webspam at Google):

I'm thinking that the disavow tool is a definite way to tell Google, "Hey, look at me, I use dirty practices or have paid people to use dirty tactics in order to rank my website in your search engine, oh and to show you I know they are bad, here are the links I want you to not use against me".

  It's a great strategy though and I really do hope that they get a lot out of it. I hate all of those annoying linkfarms, huge lists of unrelated comments, and especially the tools out there that are just building more and more useless content/links across the internet.

If you don't know how to use it, then don't use it.
Plus what you should do is simply ignore whatever google is saying, who cares?
If they want us to work for them they have to pay, otherwise no thanks.
