Strange about google keyword tool

Hi,

I usually use google keyword tool to find my potential keywords but now I have some doubts about that tool.

Actually, I read somewhere on the internet and changed my keyword research method. Earlier I was focusing on Google Adward Keyword Tool, but now I decided to find long tail keywords using "Google Search Engine Suggestions". Mean I started to type in Google and checked the search suggestions it shows. Once I found some of them and decided to check the number of monthly searches for those suggestion; I turned to Google Adward Keyword tool and I'm surprised to see that most of them have no available data. So, I am confused now whether to go for those keywords or not.

I personally think, search suggestions that google shows are those that other people use to search for on google. If that's correct then google must also have the data like how many searches are being made monthly for those keywords.

Do any one please explain a bit that how Google search suggestions are related to Google Adward keyword tool?

I would really appreciate everyone's help!

      Thanks for your reply.

You said No Data = No CPC, but keywords do exist? I mean they have some specific number of monthly searches?

Hello rana, you have mentioned a good issue here which should be looked upon. You are right that suggested keywords by Google while typing in the search box sometimes are not found in the AdWord Keyword Tool. I was using the tool before for finding keywords, but a month before, I got an idea while typing the search that why shouldn't the suggested keywords be tested. I tried the keywords and got good results. From this, we can say the data in AdWord Keyword Tool may not be updated according to the searches. We can't say anything about Google, as it is the largest network and we can't expect anything wrong like this. Still I'll suggest you to try the suggested keywords for a month or more, and compare the results. It may work as did for me. Best of luck!!

Google Adword keyword tool would give you an idea how often a keyword is been search. Google search suggestion are similar term related to what you searching for. Everyday Google is calculating 16% new queries. This way, they measure trend of users.

  • Rana1863,

You raise a valid point here and there is actually some evidence floating around about how the Google Keyword tool may be misleading and sometimes downright inaccurate. For example you will receive different volume estimates on any given keyword phrase depending on if you are logged in or out of Google at the time.

Google Adwords Tool is definitely very limited.

The 'google suggestion' keywords are untapped - many of those keywords are not displayed when searching in the adwords tool.

Just like any tools out there, Google Keyword tool has also its own limitations. That's why best thing to do is to use other tools for comparison.
