Just forget about Google, I want traffic!

Today I sadly noticed another of my blog's traffic just drop down like a fallen nut with having a chance of getting up.

The little traffic it still has comes from referrals mostly from blog comments I have done and a few keywords from SEs. So what the hell I thought it is time of looking traffic in the old fashion, instead of targeting keywords, let's write anchor texts that attract visitors. Ultimately, that is the purpose of a link right? Getting a visitor from it.

In the matter of numbers:
How many links per article do you think would be necessary to get a couple of thousands of visitors per day?
Let's say from high traffic blogs with comluv enabled, guest posts, articles. And how many videos would be necessary to get traffic from youtube.

What other techniques could I use to increase my traffic without having the need of paying advertising?

Ranking on Gooogle in these days is kind of hard do not you think? And the curious thing, "in my case" is that most SE traffiec were not really targeted, bounce rates were about 80%. I am getting more conversions from referals than from organic search. But I need more traffic a lot more....

I agree these days getting ranking high on Google is not as used to be a year ago, and with all these Google algorithm changes and updates it getting harder and harder to rank high for some profitable term and specially to control and keep that ranking, I am disagree that social media traffic can get more conversion then targeting traffic, phrase that people typing searching for something, let's take a look biggest social media Facebook traffic compare to Google: facebook traffic is just bulk traffic Because of the way facebook is setup and the way people use facebook, it will never be able to become a better advertising method than Google,The reason is that people who use Google are telling Google what they want. For example, if someone wants an LED TV, they tell Goolge “Cheap LED TVs”, this allows advertiser's or SEO's to specifically target that person and display an ad for Cheap LED TV’s, You cannot do this to the same extent with facebook. For example, the only way to target people who are intersted in LED TV’s is to hope that they join an LED TV group. Another issue facebook has is a majority of their traffic is from repeat visitors, which is expected. This means that people are familiar with the site and usually log into facebook to see if they have any private messages, friend requests, or to update their profile. When people have specific things they want to do with or on a particular site, they ignore the advertisements because their eye’s are not searching the page for the next option, instead they go right to the option, do the task, and leave the site...

When I talk about referral traffic I am not talking about social media. I too think traffic from Facebook or other social networks is bulk. I am talking about traffic from other websites such as blogs, regular websites referring my links in their articles. Those are the ones that really can convert because a genuine visitor would interest in your link depending on the anchor text of that link.

You can get traffic from social media, it is important to get targeted traffic you can be able to get that also from social media you just have to engage with users with the same interest somehow you'll get targeted traffic. SEO is also best way to get targeted traffic and be more visible in search engines just acquire quality back links form relevant websites with high PR and DA.

Social Media traffic is getting easier and easier to get with all these new start ups popping up (pinterest , instagram to name a few) . I wouldn't totally abandon SEO, but I wouldn't advise putting all your eggs in one basket either.

Yes I just read a post about that. Not putting all the eggs in one basket. I still believe all three methods are tightly related: Social Media, Referral traffic and SE traffic. Nonetheless, SE traffic is kind of twisted nowadays.

In my experience, referral traffic (not social media) from blogs, websites is actually relevant. Everything depends the text of your link. A good headline always will bring to your site targeted traffic.

Pretty crazy. I don't know if it's the topic I'm talking about but I would receive about 100+ unique visitors just from StumbleUpon.

    You can try that.

I just do not understand why when I talk about "referral" you guys think about social networks, digg, stumbleupon. I mean real referral traffic from thousands of regular sites.
