Identifying Low Paying Ads

I've done some googling, and it appears previously people were using a site called Ads Blacklist for the purpose in thread title. That site is no longer open. Is there an alternative or a site that serves a similar purpose?

I am getting ~500 clicks per day, with a ~$0.05 CPC.

I walked away from Adsense but that was never something I was able to figure out as well. Though my CPC was a lot better then that so wasn't a big issue to me

Anyone else know? I really am not earning enough for the traffic I receive.

Yea, I am thinking about same issues lately, as more clicks I get - the cheaper they pay. But maybe it is only temporary as it depends on many factors and I do not know how to show expensive ads only...

        Hi OmenGFX,

The reason that website is no longer around is that the theory behind the concept is no longer valid. Since AdSense added Quality Scores there is no need for general ad blacklists, it is handled automatically by the ad quality score system.

AdSense is an auction based system, so it is the market that sets the price for clicks on your web pages. It is the laws of supply and demand that will determine your CPC. To improve your CPC you can either reduce the supply of ads (less ad units per page), or increase the demand.

To increase demand for ad space on your pages you first need lots of extremely targeted traffic. If your traffic is not well targeted that will lower your CPC significantly. Take care to produce content that attracts buyers for your advertisers, write content that inspires shoppers to become purchasers, this will increase CTR as well as CPC.

Finally, make sure that your promotional efforts target traffic that will find your advertisers ads extremely relevant. Build backlinks on web pages that are frequented by customers of your targeted advertisers. Target keywords that have high commercial intent and are relevant to the advertisers that display on your web pages. By helping your advertisers achieve success you will increase demand for your ad space, and the result will be higher CPC.
