This is working very well now but it'd widely expected to be hit in a future algo update.

I don't think the issue is tiered linking itself; it's the fact that nearly everyone is using Web 2.0 properties as their "Tier 1" links. Google will eventually reduce the value of links from Web 2.0's to where this stops working.

The only real algo-proof solution is to have real, aged websites as your "Tier 1" domains but then you have to realize they may (or probably will) get penalized or de-indexed when you start hammering them with mass links per the standard tiered linking method.

I agree 100%. Web 2.0s will die a horrific death soon. Stick to quality authority sites 50+ pages of content as your tier sites.

Google would be nuts to stop counting links from .wordpress.com.

There's an awful lot of good content on Wordpress and Blogspot.

Just build real blogs on there and you'll be fine.

You know what a real blog looks like?

Not every post has a link to a 'money site.' Mix it up. Write some posts about a concert you attended. Write a post about how you're battling a weight problem. Write up a detailed 'About' page. These are the details that spammers never do right. If you do them, you're not a spammer. You're just someone with a bunch of blogs.

Guest Blogging is definitely one of the favoured ways post-penguin. It gets you backlinks from authority sites.

This is some good advice. However dont just use wordpress.com

Find a list of web2.0 sites and use all of them (squidoo is a really good one).

        Great call there.....

Think of the way we are being told to link build at the moment. All these web 2.0 properties linking to each other and to our money site. Behind that we have social book marking, profile links and blog comment etc etc....

So web 2.0 props are our 1st level links.....

        Think about it......

Also make some do follow back links on forums

  • Everything you mentioned above works well.

Also, in addition to that, article marketing works well if you leverage it properly. A forum thread about that:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...backlinks.html

Also, backlinks from viral marketing, and infographic sites are hot.

I would steer clear from syndicated backlinks of all kinds unless they are pointing to your tier 2 preferably tier 3 backlinks though. They look like spam otherwise.

Right you are. Google addresses these types of links right here.

They call: Using automated programs or services to create links to your site a link scheme.

Then they mention: Low-quality directory or bookmark site links.

This means you should never point links from a program like "Magic Submitter" directly at your 'money site.'

You're welcome Apple, if you read that document from Google you'll see they hate just about every 'link scheme' ever used.

This is the main reason people are going to such extreme lengths to hide any associations that Google might consider 'paid.'

Google is making their $40 billion a year and don't want anyone else getting it
