Guest blogging for me is great for 3 reasons:
- Backlinks
- A larger social networks so people which means more subscribers
- Plus you can have more targeted ideas to blog about due to seeing what people talk about.

Yea Guest blogging is very much effective.It has got a separate attention after the Google penguin update.Almost every expert SEO guys nowadays are talking about it for getting backlinks.

Besides this,It also generates traffic since the people read your post are in your niche,so If you can generate intereseting and useful content,it should drive targeted traffic to your site.

On that matter, I'm interested in 1:1 blog post exchange.
My blog is: TheOnlineFreeGames.com

I'm interested in game related posts, but there's a wide range.

It can be:
* Technology that involves gaming
* SEO techniques for gaming site
* Game review (any kind of games, facebook games, flash games, consoles etc)

Anything that can be related to gaming. you get the idea.

A few guidelines -
* Your post must be original and not previously published elsewhere (to avoid any duplicate content issues)
* Post should be at least 800 words.
* You can add 3 links in the post. I suggest not linking to the same money url but to 3 different sites.

Yup. Guest Blogging is effective in both driving traffic, and getting you quality backlinks. Not only that, but you can also use it for earning a good income directly by building a list.

Of course, it depends on the type of website that you're guest blogging on.

I just read a good thread on the main forum that's a good example of that. Let me find it for you and post it here.

If you want traffic, guest post on websites with a lot of traffic. This, however, means that you will have to invest a bit more in the article writing (they won't take crappy content).

The answer like anything in SEO is "it depends how you use it".

If you post on quality, respected and well edited blogs with pagerank, traffic and a clean layout then it is almost the best thing you can do for SEO.

However if you are to post on spam blogs that have many unrelated articles, no authority, a poor layout and no inbound links/traffic then it'll most likely hurt your site.

Use your judgement and you'll know what to do

Totally agree, Careful where you guest blog as you could damage your site more choosing the wrong places to do it. Blogs that have been up over 6 months with 0 page rank will generally have 0 pagerank for a reason. Blogging on sites under 6 month only with 0 Page Rank could be an advantage as if they get established as a good site you have instant credit

It depends to the quality of your post. If you just say things like "great post", I think you will not get a relevant backlink. Guest blogging is all about communicating to people that have the same interest as you. Be sure to make an intelligent post.
