    It is not just about number of articles, it is about the over all quality of your site and traffic too. You could have 1000 articles but if only 1 person each visits.. then no point. They take it all into account for approval so there is no short easy answer.

    just make a quality site with great content, that gets updates regularly and a nie steady flow of traffic then sure go ahead and add adsense,
