Hi There everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I'm seeking some advise regarding SEO please?

I have a new website which i launched back in July and since then site i hired a company to do organic SEO. After several weeks i can see some key words are on page 1 in Google which is great however not enough traffic is generated to the site. I understand I'm in highly competitive market and since it's a new site it will take some time.

I'm on a three month contract which will end in 2013 and i don't think will be renewing the contract because of budget requirement.

I was planning to do the seo my self even though i have 0 experience in SEO but willing to learn or outsource it to someone in here if they come up with a reasonable price.

I was thinking of registering through linkvana and do the article submission my self and i was thinking of purchasing Market Samurai. Any recommendation please ?

Thank you
Alex

    Hi Alex,

Welcome to the forums. Nice to meet you.

Well, before we can answer your questions, I think there are a few things we need to clarify first.

You mention that you have 0 SEO experience. However, you also mention that you are thinking of using Linkvana and Market Samurai.

Well, those tools are mostly for people who at least have some experience and also at least have some sort of SEO strategy.

So, what I'd like to ask is, where are you currently along the SEO learning curve? Are you still at the 0 experience level, or have you learned some things since then?

Also, what type of SEO strategy do you currently have in mind?

I mean to say, what are you thinking of doing with those tools?

Finally, what is your end goal? What type of long-term results are you looking to achieve for your website? Additionally, might be useful if you share your business model...

Thanks for the prompt reply mate, nice to meet you too

Well I'm technical person but never done SEO in the past.
I have learnt a few things but not enough. I'm planning to do some seo reading for the next 3 months if I'm planing to take over the project .

My plan is to do some PPC advertisement monthly and continue with aggressive SEO and get more back-links done.

Our end goal is to improve ranking in search engines, get traffic to our site and traffic conversion. We are in IT industry and provide consulting and IT support services. I was planning to use linkvana to do article submission to blogs directory submission etc .

Our long-term goal is to be on Page 1. I understand that's a challenge specially if there's a lot of competition in my field of expertise.

      Thanks
      Alex

Using Market Samurai is the way to go. You can also add Long Tail Pro in your list of tools.

Have you doen some keyword research for your market? If you're getting onto page 1 for some of your phrases but not getting the traffic maybe you're targeting the wrong words. Market Samurai will definitely help you with that.

    Welcome Alex,
Though you are new to SEO but your choice is good about Market samurai and Linkvana.
I can suggest you to first head towards seomoz, learn some SEO basics and current scenario of SEO.
once you have learnt some basic knowledge then give first priority to building a quality website that gives some value to your visitors.
All latest Google algorithms have highlighted it very clearly that they want webmasters to build quality sites targeted for users and not for search engine.
So how can you best use these seo tools?
1)Best way I would suggest is to finalize your niche(I guess you already did that)
    2) Use market samurai to research keywords in your niche, pick up few decent traffic keywords, then build some good content and pages around those keyword on your site, let them get indexed in Google
    3) Once your website on-page content and optimization is proper then only use powerful tools like Linkvana for off-site promotion and marketing.
    4) Linkvana can get you large diversity of backlinks and social media signal(eg. in-context backlinks from high PR authority websites, facebook like, tweets, press release, edu, video marketing and lot more)

Generally most of SEOs do one common but a very big mistake of ignoring on-page content/site optimization before using such powerful tools so they tend to spend most of their time on heavy off-page SEO linkbuilding campaigns and when they get hit by new Google algorithm updates they blame these tools for their failure. So build a quality content site first and then use Linkvana or whatever tool suits you best for off-page optimization for strong and stable rankings.

Just don't buy or build any spam links because that could ruin your site forever. Use natural methods such as social media websites, facebook and youtube for example.

    Hey there Alex

    Welcome to the forum!

Just one quick tip for you, I have made more money off a site that only got about 30 visits a week than off a site that had over 500! Both were in the same niche and from that experience I learned one huge tip about SEO. Always concentrate on your conversion rate rather than the quantity of traffic. If you have a nicely designed website, a solid product and a unique way of selling your product. You are much more likely to sell.

Way to many people focus on getting hundreds of unique visitors instead of building a sold relationship with the ones they are currently getting.

    Hope this helps
