Do Splash Pages Rank on Google?

The other day when searching via keywords through Google I found to my surprise a few splash pages as well. The best part of it is that they appeared in the first few pages. Do Spash pages stand to gain in search engines. Does Google respect them?

    Yeah simple on page techniques can work if your site is targeting low competition keywords.

      Yes, that may be one of the reasons for their appearance on the search pages. Of course I don't see many of these splash pages. Google algorithms might have had a say on them too.

          Some splash pages look fabulous and Google may like some primary keywords on them too I suppose.
