So, I do a search for SEO is alive, and get up to
      18,000,000 results...what then?

I searched for Elvis lives and got 4 mil.

You should have read David Portney's humorous post,
of which he really makes fun of it...

Why Would Someone Say That SEO is Dead?

There are plenty of reasons you might hear this:

They really, actually, think SEO is dead
They hope SEO will be dead soon
      They're link-baiting (ahem!)
They're creating completely misleading headlines to get your attention so you'll read their stupid article, only to find out that the "article" is not about SEO being dead at all. In fact, they're just trying to impress you with how much they know about SEO so you'll want to hire them. (I wonder if that actually ever worked - did you ever hire someone after reading something like that? C'mon, you can tell me - I'll keep your secret safe!)

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

Google or any other search engine cant live without SEO otherwise the cost of ad revenue would drop out of the sky and thats what they are all here.

That made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

To the OP, congrats on the dumbest thread of the month, narrowly beating out your other dumbest thread of the month.

Well the fact that SEO is DEAD might tell us that a lot of blackhat method might be screwin up the Optimization of Search Engines in this many years (Well, we all know that Blackhat is prohibited but it is also workable in SEO's). Well it might be also a counter act for people to stop the "Internet Marketing" go elsewhere earning decent money for these people who made up stories that SEO is DEAD, that in the end they will benefit from these news. I am also a bit shocked from these searches that you've shown but believe me, Google is just constantly changing it's Optimization Algorithm's and that might be "Eradicating Blackhat Method's". Who knows what well happen next?
My advice, never put up a big investment if you are even not sure that you can get your ROI eventually.

Funny Picture that you have, It made me laugh. XD

Once we move to touch screens and voice activated computing directly, SEO as we know it will go the way of the Dodo (that's an extinct bird for all you young'ins). Even the mouse and keyboard will go away. Things are changing. What will they change to? We can only guess. The best advice is to keep up with the constant changes and learn to adapt.

But one thing's for sure. The days of 1-3% keyword density are over. People want readable content that is informative and, gasp, entertaining. That's the way the Internet should have always been to begin with.

Terribly sorry to hear that GGpaul.

On the flip side, I do quite a lot of silly stuff on Source Wave too so it was only a matter of time.

      Best of luck!

If you're talking about spammy SEO, then it's probably dead. Pure seo is still there. It's a matter of how you'll use it.

I think it only fitting now to make this my last post here probably for a long while. Looking over the forums the last two week and then this thread comes along.

Its like the song - Love don't live here anymore.

On this forum neither does anything remotely valuable about SEO.

      and so neither does Mike.

Time to let the kiddies run free and enjoy themselves

      See you all.

P.S. GG thats not to say I won't be at your wedding. I'll still hunt you down and crash that sucker.

LOL...Join the club buddie, I'm still wondering why there are threads about having 35 emd adsense sites. I just respond to my old threads that resurface every now again, beyond that I stay away.

SEO will never go away. What's dead is the spam and crap that people used to "call" SEO but that junk was never real SEO anyway.
