New guy here. Lots of clicks but no sales. What am I doing wrong?

Hey guys,

I've put about $61 into advertising with adwords and gotten over 100 clicks, but still had no sales...at all. I'm aware that I have to spend money to make money, but I feel like I'm doing something wrong, seeing as not 1 person has made a purchase.

So here's my site, let me know what you think I can improve on or change.

collegemeditationguide.com

Thanks!

Is there really a market for this? $20 seems like a high price to ask a college kid to plunk down for a meditation guide.

The graphics for the books look pretty lame, especially the freebie ones. That would make me hesitant to blow $20 right there.

I don't know. I'm obviously not the target market, but it just doesn't seem like something I would buy, period.

I believe there is a niche market for a product like this. I just have to reach it. I agree that $20 seems a little high. I am definitely willing to drop the price down, I just have to find the right price. Maybe $10 or $15? The graphics can be easily changed as well.

What other suggestions do you guys have?

Your site looks like your average stereotypical scam website. Improve the design, remove the cliche text like BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE and the customer satisfaction guarantee you probably got off Google Images. The fake looking customer feedback also doesn't help. Sorry if I was harsh but I can't stand these types of sites and so can't most people. Don't force a product in someone face is what I'm trying to say. Look at other sites such as Sony and Apple, there's a reason they don't do this and it's simple, it doesn't work. Get an idea of what other company website look like (not scam sites) and copy their designs but with your own touch. Other than that your niche probably has a very low demand. I'm pretty sure most college students would be skeptical of meditation so I wouldn't target them. Hope your site goes well and once again sorry for the rant.

Not harsh at all. I actually appreciate the honesty. I'll look into some different wordpress templates to get it looking more professional.

Firstly, what keywords are you targeting and what is your Adwords text? It's quite possible you aren't targeting your ads to the right audience.

Adwords text: "Tired of stressing about college?
Buy today and melt stress away!"

I'm aware that this is cheesy.

      Keywords:

beginners meditation, beginning meditation, beginning meditation ebook, college and meditation, how do i meditate, how to learn meditation, how to meditate, learn how to meditate, learn to meditate, meditation and college, meditation and students, meditation book, meditation ebook, meditation guide, meditation how to, meditation tips, mindfulness meditation, relieve stressin college, school and meditation

Right there is a huge problem.

You are targeting a lot of general meditation keywords, but your sales page 100% targets college students.

You're not going to sell anything like that, no matter how great you
think it is. That stuff is like so 1999. Maybe someone sold you
on the idea that you could make money selling it. You can't.

And run from anything and everything like it in the future.

Now that's the truth. Other people may give you tips on
selling, but those tips would be on selling something that
actually makes economic and logical sense.

Are you referring to the layout of the site? Or the product itself?

try to review your keys. You might be appearing on keywords that doesn't exactly match your landing page. Also, when converting traffic, it's more on the website itself. Try to write a more convincing copywrite on your landing page.

The sales page copy isn't any good IMO.

Also show an example, If it's an ebook show the first page of content they're buying, make the first page of content solve part of the problem. That will help create a teaser to help sales.

I'm actually surprised Adwords approved this website to be honest.

Honestly, if you're committed to this product, I would start a niche blog and bring in traffic that way.

Write articles based on your own experience and make it awesome. Target every related keyword within this niche you can. Write quality guest posts about the topic.

Then I would have an opt-in and market the product that way, also link to the sales page within your articles.

    • One of the reasons why you are not getting any sales is because you haven't chosen the right keywords. Without some good keywords, you won't get targeted traffic. Do proper keyword research and then add relevant content.
