Google + pages on Page 1 of the SERP's

I'm brand new to the forum and searched this extensively but couldn't find anything specifically on it.

I've found a very good niche, highly searched, good awcpc, etc, but when I look at the kws in google alot of Google + pages take up the first 3 to 5 positions on page 1 of Google.

I have almost no experience with Google+. Many of the other pages/sites that are ranking are not highly optimized with on page seo, backlinks, off page-social proof etc, but a few are.

I looked at their Google + pages that are in the first positions and many are just "shell" accounts with no profiles, etc.

I've seen a few Google + pages show up on page one from time to time, but not to this extent...it's really weird looking.

Why are so many Google + pages showing up in the first positions on Google, instead of real websites for these keywords.

Has anyone else seen this before?

Will these be hard to outrank with the proper things in place...kw rich domain, on page and off page seo done right, good social proof etc.?

Anyone?

Thanks in advance...David Lee

Google Plus ranks highly because it's a sub domain of Google which has high authority and there's not that much competition. I don't think it will be hard to outrank Google Plus, it's just there because as I've said there isn't much competition and Google can't find any proper websites to rank. Maybe use a free host so you don't waste any money and see if you can get up there with low competition? Good luck.

  • Passiveincomejedi,

We are seeing this more and more as Google has integrated Google Plus with the search results it serves up. Most notably are the social suggestions that it returns when relevant documents coincide with people in a user’s network that have plus oned them or otherwise endorsed content.

Not sure why you are seeing so many G+ results for your KW’s. If you aren’t on Google plus or at least aren’t active on it, then Google probably wouldn’t be serving that many personal results for you.

The question of whether they will be hard to outrank is dependent on the networks of other users. If other users are connected to these profiles in some way, those same results may be served to them as well which means something that you are building which isn’t connected to them socially may be pushed down.

I would take a look at the profiles that are showing up. See what websites they are linked to as well as other G+ accounts that they are connected to. Are they being endorsed by anyone that you are connected to?

You might also consider creating your own G+ page to compete with those results,
