CPC Doesn't Match Keyword Tool / Contextual Tool

Hey Guys,
Don't mean to double post, I accidentally posted this in IM discussion without thinking.

Anyways, I've set up a niche site, and got 12 Clicks today, Resulting in $7.60.
The Keyword Tool says my Keyword (Exact) is high competition, and has an Average Search CPC of $60. I'm getting an average CPC on my Website of $0.62.

If anyone has any idea why... I'd be very grateful.. Thanks!

P.S. All Similar Keywords (Others that have been showing up on my website), have been over $30, and still result in the same $0.40 - $0.60 CPC with high competition.

Thanks!

    Hi Blinking,

The answer should be quite obvious, you are looking at the top dollar for search network ads, and the Display network where you are competing is a totally different market. The CPC in one market has little to do with the CPC in the other market.

Additionally, your traffic might not all be coming from the precise keyword you are looking at, in most cases it wouldn't be.

And another thing, if your web pages are displaying more than one ad unit then you are not going to be getting the top CPC advertisers for all your clicks.

There are several anyways, and my first answer is already given above.

Your site has many keywords, and Google will most likely show whatever ad that has the keyword with the highest PPC competition.

    1. The keyword tool CPC is for Adwords (not Adsense).
    2. The keyword tool is an average based on the previous years data.
    3. Adwords is an auction type bidding (never static).
    4. Adwords competition is constantly changing.
    5. Adwords quality scores are constantly changing.
    6. Google gets a percentage on anything related to Adwords.
    7. etc...
