Does anyone know and if so can share a link or links to information if Google is penalizing articles with links going back to your site being up on article sites? Also the type of article sites I am talking about are like for example...
goarticles.com
ezinearticles.com
articleblast.com
etc. etc. etc.
Thanks

I totally agree with shifat that google never be penalized high and good article sites. But if you post bulk article then will be penalized.

So eonejames when you say bulk what do you mean? Like if I submit 3 articles each brand new unique content 110% new written to 3 different article sites so 1 article to each site would Google penalize that?

I suggest that you only submit your articles to High PR sites that review articles first before approving it to make sure that it is quality and original. Why? Because Google love sites that are providing quality information.

And for your questions, not for the quality sites. But for WordPress type article sites that automatically approved articles, yes they are affected.

    Regards,

    Ronnie

Not that we should automatically believe Mr Cutts about everything but his statements here do reflect my own SEO experience i.e. article directory marketing is OK for generating human traffic but pretty weak for SEO:

Thanks everyone for the information ya thats what I suspected that if you put your articles on high pr quality sites that is fine but low quality auto approve article sites is a no no.

Please post the link in where you heard this news. You are so specific displaying the article submission sites so there must be a evidence behind it. Curious to know.

Not only article sites, Google is now trying to eradicate artificial back links. Google values only links from sites which are relevant and thematic.

as per my knowledge the real issue is submitting the same article copy to different article sites at the same time. After the panda and penguin updates, I turned towards the habit of submitting an article copy to only one of the major article directories...

Right georgescifo if you submit duplicate content to article sites that will get you penalized but if you submit one unique article to each site and each article is totally new content that is the way to go.

Before posting anywhere just check whether that site is indexed or not in google. Because many of the sites are being deindexed so do give a check before your submit your content or link.

I think any newbie spread out that rumor, because there is no reason to penalize those sites in terms of Google guidelines.

I don' think Google will penalize for submitting to articles. May be it is because of other stuffs which you followed.

I own an article directory and it was recently deindexed by Google. I hadn't done anything to it in years that would justify a deindexing. Im beginning to think that it was either the new disavow tool that did this or enough webmasters reporting my domain for not removing their backlinks.

I really cannot understand what else would cause this. No linkbuilding had been done on it. It really hadn't been touched other than having my VA review and approve or deny article. We kept getting streams and streams of link removal requests but didn't think much of it. Now I think that google is cracking down on these sites.

Anyone else have a similar experience?
