Hi all. I built a website and its indexed but has the following problems:

In google it says Nothing found for Home with the website link below.
The landing page ends up being my About Me page instead of the home page.
On the landing page there is a Error 404 - Not Found right around the banner.

Anyone else had this type of problem building a site and if so what did you do?

Why don't you fix that Error 404 on your landing page to make your site crawlable
    for search engines?

Because I don't know what causes it or how to fix it.

If it's a linux server try to use only lowercase for filenames.

          It's not a linux file.

404 means that the file does not exist.

      Strange. Wonder why that's happening.

Care to share your site here? I may take a look and check if what the problem is.

    Regards,

Well everything seems fixed now. The page is indexing properly for now. There was still a page indexing with a 404 error (but still with pictures and text) but I realized it was in the trash and deleted it.

It is still indexing but from what I read I shouldn't us the tool for that because supposedly the page will drop off naturally after a few days. I guess I have to wait and see? I don't know. Anyone have any experience with a similar situation?

Are you using Wordpress for your site?

If so, there could be a problem with the settings redirecting your homepage to your about page.

Also, you might have your Wordpress settings set to disallow search engines from crawling your website...

Thanks but no its not set to disallow crawling or the site wouldn't show at all would it? I am using Wordpress, what would I do to solve the redirecting issue? Thanks again.
