I don't give much attention to article directories sites, after the birth of Google Panda. Instead I focus on publishing my articles on web 2.0 sites and then do proper link building and promotion so that it can rank higher on search engines and can deliver quality referral.

Since the introduction of Google Panda, I haven't seen any article of "EzinesArticle" ranking on 1st page of Google but I do see blogspot and wordpress articles. That's why I give more preference to blogspot and wordpress.

That's some good advice there. Building web 2.0 can work out good if proper link building is done.

Did you read EzineArticles.com Terms of Service for Authors ? Read it and make some quality contents and submit. But I think you should submit to your website or your blog.

As far I know after Panda update Ezine and some other directories were made No follow. So the links from them are not as good as before.

If you are asking for backlinks from EzineArticles, they are not going to give you good results (I am talking about the links). However, if you are going to use Ezine as a buffer page, then it's going to be a good idea.

I have 6 good articles posted on Ezine when I was working in online gambling industry. I used those articles as my buffer pages and built lots of links to them.

The outcome was, all of them got good PR, and transfers good link juice and traffic for my money site.

That was just my experience by the way.

I want to explain the whole thing in a example. Why web 2.0 or guest posting or press release promotion is more beneficial? I am running penny auction software business. Type a query "penny auction software" in Google search box.

You can see two sites which create doubts in your mind.

Penny auction site busted using software designed to cheat - DailyFinance (It's not a penny auction company or not related with any type auction business)

auctionboxsoftware.com (it has many broken link, many under construction pages, many pages have loreal type content, No solid back links power) - I don't know why Google has given it priority.

Morel of the story Google give priority to guest posting and other web 2.0 pages with solid contents. You can find many strange thing now after great Google panda and penguin updates.

The backlinks from article directories have low link juice value.

You could try other off page techniques to build link for your site. Off page techniques like blog comments , press release and forum posting will be useful in building links for your site.
