The Google algorithm keeps on changing on regular basis so it is pretty hard to get someone who can guarantee the top rankings in less time. Google is giving more importance to quality work than the quantity. So it is hard to expect great changes in less time. This will purely depend on the expertise of the person who will be working on your project.

I agree that no one should be offering Guaranteed Results. If they are, especially if they are promising them "fast", then they are most likely using black hat methods that could get you completely deindexed from Google's Index.

Also, beware of SEO companies that are reselling text link ads and other paid links. Sometimes they will build authority to your site this way and as soon as you stop using them, your links are gone.

Either way, Google is always changing it's algorithm and if they are using black hat methods to get you fast results, there is strong possibility that your results will not last for long.

SEO is a popularity contest. The best way to build high rankings is to take your time and write good content. Use blogging, related forums, guest posting, and social media to build a solid online reputation. Become recognized as an industry expert by offering free webinars to your target market.

At the end of the day, gaining popularity online is similar to gaining popularity in the real world. People have a pretty good sense when you are full of BS. Stay focused on what you are good at and don't do anything that could cause you to lose credibility.

I think the guarantee results this person was referring to was the pay only on results companies. Basically you pay nothing or don't start paying until you reach an agreed upon rank. That doesn't mean you will ever reach that rank, but the SEO company is taking the risk here. If they don't deliver you don't pay anything.

But as some have stated, the damage they can do can be very lasting.

Disregard all the total nonsense about no one being able to guarantee SEO that you have read in this thread OP. Companies CAN give guarantees. there are two ways

A) a professional SEO can guarantee rankings if they are allowed to choose the keywords. A SEO that cannot pick Keywords he can rank for is a newb and does not understand one thing about SEO. If people in this thread call themselves SEOs and cannot pick out three terms that can bring their customers a certain amount of traffic and rank one of them then they ought to hang it up and not call themselves SEOs

B) A guarantee can give back value if the ranking does not materialize. Thats what a guarantee has ALWAYS meant. A money back guarantee is the most common. You see them all the time. If for any reason etc etc such and such happens We will do this or that or give you your money back. In my case with WF clients I promise them if they do not rank then I will hand them over a valuable set of domains in order for them to own their own PR network. In other case companies will give you a replacement for a product. thos are all guarantees and its total nonsense to claim the no one can give you such guarantees

A guarantee does NOT require that you know the future or that nothing can ever go wrong but it puts the customer in a place to get back value if what the customer was promised is not delivered.

Too many self proclaimed SEOs hide behind the claim that no guarantees at all can be given. No other professions gets away with this. If you have a lawyer he might not be able to get you off a crime you committed but if he gives you a half baked defense you can appeal. IF you hire a contractor to rebuild your kitchen and he does not delivered then he can be sued. Too many SEOs say hey its Google so we can't guarantee anything so they have no responsibility for anything. Its a crock. In fairness its a little bit the customers fault as well. Nowadays people all want to tell you what they want to rank for when Its the professional that should be telling them what they have a good chance at ranking. It should be the job of an SEO to pick out the terms that will bring traffic that will convert into sales/income not the person who doesn't know SEO.

Now having said all that if someone tells you they guarantee a ranking and will do it in an unrealistic time or for cheap then I would run away. The only way you can craft a real guarantee is if you are making enough money to stand behind it or to rectify it and if you are being realistic about the time.

If you want anything else but a very and I mean easy term ranked in 90 days or less then you are not getting any guarantee from me and if you want it so cheap that all I can do is run MS or Senuke and hope then forget that too. TO have any real chance at ranking with guarantee I have to be able to use more than one technique

Which is why so many people here think its impossible to give guarantees - cause they either don't know any better or they are dealing with people who want to rank for make money online for a $97 one time payment.
