Hi WF,

I'm about to meet with my FIRST SEO services client and I've been stumping and researching for the longest on a fair SEO package.

Wanted to know what kinds of packages and prices you guys are offering to see where I stand on the spectrum.

I have an idea of the package and pricing I'll offer him, but want to get some additional info.

Of course the service will consist of
  1. Keyword Research (how many keywords)
  2. Content generation (see 4)
  3. Competitor Analysis (how many competitors do I report on?)
  4. On-page optimization (how many pages should I optimize and for what price?)
  5. Off-page optimization - Link-Building (how many links per month) [I actually answered this alread)
  6. Off-page optimization - Local claiming and citation (How many per month for how much)
  7. Reporting (which is it's own challenge, but I think I have that covered)

Your input would be greatly appreciated folks.

Sincerely,
Marc

Packages suck. I hate when I see a company offering "packages". Every client is different and should be treated as such.

As for prices, mine vary from $500/month with no startup fee to $3500+/month with $1500 startup fee. Really depends on the scope of the project.

I agree every client is different and should be treated as such, however, packages are good in the sense that you have a base point, and the customization can start from there...no?

I'm actually thinking of making things a' la' carte. Breaking up every aspect of SEO from one offs like Keyword Research to on-goings like link-building.

I think creating packages for different services offered by you keeps a base for the price to start from but yes what friedman said is true too, each client is different and should be treated in a different manner, and the projects should be quoted with the prices keeping in mind every aspect that the project requires right from time to the size of project - ConnorMarc

Hey Mike, as you said, you charge $500 and move upto $3500, this is what you have set a benchmark or the price below which I think you will not entertain any client, and so, you can say that your packages seem to start from $500 onwards, ConnnorMarc was trying to ask the same as what I suspect from his question.

Packages are okay as long as the client knows what he is getting and the benefits of it. If you offer a press release package from authority sites I will probably purchase one from you. I know this is not enough to rank my keywords but I know I'm getting backlinks from authoritative sites.

Yah, I thought that a major reason for publishing packages was to give your potential clients a full-view of the services they're going to get.

And no, I don't currently offer such a package...lemme get back to you on that.

BTW guys, I closed the deal.
$350.00 per month for 3 keywords.
I told him I'd include enough secondary keywords to make the list 10 (that way I can use free tools; most free tools max out at 10)
I already built his site in WordPress and am now moving up to SEO.

    Yeah baybee!
