Hi Warriors,

I have been recently reading posts that say we should get rid of Google Webmaster Tools/Analytics.

Should i really get rid of them?

And will doing so, prevent Google access my site and get data such as "bounce rate" etc,..?

Why should we get rid of them?

What are your opinions?

Why would you get rid of Google Webmaster Tools/Analytics? They are a great, free tool to help you track the "going ons" of your websites. Google already tracks whatever they want...they already know everything about your site...might as well be able to track it yourself.

Bounce rate from Google Analytics is a good data for you.
I think you have to focus on your reader rather than Google.

Bounce rate is a metric that tell you why people leave from your website without click other pages.

When you know the data you understand your website work or not.

Think about if new visitors from your advertising come to your website and not read your content, how do know the data without helping of google analytics.

Improve your website for user experience and provide them a good quality content is the things you should focus first not get rid of the google tool

Maybe. If you're considering gaming the system. If not, then why would you need to?

Why would you let the almighty Google know so much information about your website? Do you think Google will just allow you to use Google Analytics for free without taking anything in return? Hell no. They want more information about your website's traffic and visitors.

I'm still using Google Analytics on some of my websites but I'm considering switching to other website tracking/statistics tools.

I have heard rumors that these tools can hurt your ability to rank on google which might be why people are telling you that you shouldn't use them. However I use them and I am ranking just fine for multiple search terms.

So I guess the rumors are unfounded. I say go ahead and use them! Its important to track the stats on your website so you can be continuously improving it.

Absolutely not. WT/Analytics are an amazing source of information and you should definitely be using them.

Why would you do that?? It wouldn't hurt using Google webmaster and analytics tools, but it would definitely hurt if you do not use it. How can you track your visitors, the demographics, bounce rates, etc.? They are offered for free, so why not use them?

Plus, these tools are highly recommended by Google and adhering to these tools will help you grow your website's chance of toppling competition and learning exact ways to do so.

I will be glad if you please share the link of the post where it was written that we should get rid of Google analytics & webmaster tools.

Since online business completely depends on Google, so without Google, Internet is incomplete as of today.

In my opinion, Google Tools are very useful. I do not believe they are harmful in any way. You should not get rid of them.

Those advises about "Getting rid of GWT & GA" are aimed at Blackhat SEOs and other Search Engine manipulators.

So if you aren't doing anything sneaky to game Google's system, you have nothing to worry about. Those tools will actually help.

    At the same time:

    1) I think the advice about removing Google's Webmaster Tools is useless in general, blackhat or not.
GWT simply gives YOU the Webmaster, access to information that Google already has about your site.
You are the one Gaining information here, not Google.

Only if you use stuff like the Disavow Tool in GWT, can Google start getting suspicious of you.

    2) If you use Google Adsense on your sites, then it doesn't make sense omitting Google Analytics for that site. You will be the one losing out.

Google already gets the same amount of data from your sites when you have Adsense installed on them.

Google probably has other methods of gathering data on your website usage that you may not be aware of, such as: Forming relationships with other data-gathering companies and Advertising Networks.

    Not really...

If you get rid of them, then how will Google know how great your site is?

And if your site isn't great, then whether you use Google Webmaster Tools or Analytics or not, then it won't matter because it'll be more difficult for you to get results regardless...

    Right?
