It's ok, if you are using .eu and .ca you can get rank in all countries with these extensions,no need to worry about it.

    Muzz I can't tell if you're serious.

    Anyone else have any opinions?

Hardy you are right -- but I was able to change EU to USA but not the CA ones, since europe is a continent and Canada is a country..

You can rank any domains with any website extensions. It's all depends on the quality you are putting and doing in your websites.

Don't do that, they wont rank as well. You might get some boost in serps for Canadian google, but for all the other countries expect the drop in ratings. Sometimes it can be very significant, for some queries it almost wont matter at all, but you surely get the idea.

Most likely it won't because these are country/continent specific TLDs UNLESS you set the country to USA in Google WebMaster Tools.
Lmao, you cannot change them because they are NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO- country specific.

    PLEASE SEE THIS: https://support.google.com/webmaster...answer=1347922

On the other hand the .eu does work like generic, because there is no .eu google and they couldn't care less about it. So you could probably give it a try.

I realize this goes against what you're saying.. but what about a PR6 .ca ranking in the USA?

That's a country specific domains. Although you might rank in the US but the chances are slim. Google finds the most relevant results for your search query and fetch related results within your location.

Unless of course somebody from the US look for something in Canada and include Canadian cities, your website for sure will top on the list.

Yes, you can rank any extension in any country but it will definitely take a little more work to rank them.

You are better of purchasing .coms and putting a permanant 301 redirect on the other domains, this will allow you to rank in the USA much faster.

How long has California had their own domain extension?

    Are you sure my friend?

Because as someone said in this thread, EU domains can be changed to target the USA in WebmasterTools. However, country specific domains cannot be changed in webmaster tools.

I think page rank of that sites matters a lot. If those domains have some good pr. why could you try?

It has nothing to do with pr.
I've got pr3 and I'm still on page 15 in local search because of the wrong domain. Does rank quite well (1st page) in generic google.com though.
