Hey everybody,

I haven't been active on this forum for some time now and gave up IM after some financial problems which forced me to get a 3rd job.

I am glad that this is over now.

So now I want get involved in IM again and I was doing some keyword research and I haven't found "1" single afflilate website on the first pages of google. WOW! It used to be full of affiliates and now the only affiliates I am seeing are the ones haven't squidoo pages or hubpages. What happened? I read through the forum for hours looking for answers and read about all the updates and what changed.

But I still don't get it exactly.

1.Is it impossible to rank an affiliate site now???

2. Do we have any change to put affiliate links on our site?

3. And can I go the old route of SEO (backlings through articles, using AMR, UAW....)

Thanks in advance and all the best

seo has changed a lot in the last year, small affiliate sites have been penalized by the last google updates, so is sure harder for them to rank than before.

In regards of the seo and articles, they still work, but just as above they have been devalued, so don't expect a big bust from an amr run these days.

You have to take a non-greedy approach to SEO.

If you are just focused on maximizing your own profits, you will likely engage in activities that are going to get your site penalized by Google.

If you focus on delivering value first and foremost, you will be fine in the long run. It just takes more work to rank that way, but slow and steady wins this race!

      I totally agree with this.

But I think they go hand in hand, good seo = quality website.

Look at it this way, quality manual submission always trumps paid. Now more than ever, so if you do SEO manually then you will rank. It will take longer than it used too though.

Not only you can't promote an affiliate link anymore in the search engines, you can also get banned promoting it in your videos, PPC, and many other sites... The warrior forum also forbid the practice of promoting affiliate links in your signature thou some forums still accept the use of affiliate link like BHW.

    2. Do we have any change to put affiliate links on our site?
Yes, you can get your own domain, blog or web 2.0 like you mention and incorporate your affiliate links. The best is having it in your own site or blog..

    3. And can I go the old route of SEO (backlings through articles, using AMR, UAW....)
Those routes are not as effective as before.

Stay tuned on this section - Adsense / PPC / SEO Discussion Forum and browse the search area to learn more about things like Panda, Penguin and Google Spam fight..

I implore you take a serious look at this to avoid pitfall.
