MozRank?

For those Warriors who use MozRank, how accurately did it predict this page rank update for you?
For my gaming forum, I went from pr 3 to 2, but Mozrank had me at 3.8 and still does. I do not backlink to this site, so do not care, but just thought i'd throw it out there.
Anybody else?

    I use page authority and domain authority more than moz rank.

    PA is more correlated with rankings than pagerank. Fact.

    Just use as many metrics as you have availaible to you. I wouldnt swear a PR change that much. Means little in real terms if im being honest.

      If you know what you're doing, you can easily game their algo to get high DA and PA. I do this all the time whenever I'm about to sell a domain. I "prep" the domains that I will sell 4-6 months in advance. One of my sites even has a DA of 84, LOL! Easily, easily game-able so don't put too much weight on their DA and PA.

      My next project is to figure out how to game the Citation and Trust Flows for MajesticSEO. If you have a high DA and PA from SEOMoz, you'll probably have high CF and TF too but I've noticed this is not always the case.

        Its just as good metric as PR tbh. When evaluating site quality i use a ton of metrics. I mostly just look up backlinks in ahrefs or majestic though.

        Theres nothing wrong with using PA and DA as a guide. It just isnt the be all and end all.

    Mozrank is another arbitrary value that doesn't mean anything unless you are comparing it to other sites on the same program.

    I had hoped Mozrank would be a good backup tool but its not. Its dependent on the opensite explorer data of theirs and as anyone who has done a lot of blacklink research in buying aged domains etc can tell you - opensite misses too many backlinks.

      So very true. I also was caught up in the lie that Mozrank and even opensite explorers domain and page authorities were the best way to check links. However I have discovered this is not the case either.

      I do however still believe that opensiteexplorer is good for "quick checks". I then compile a list of the sites with domain authority 30 or higher. I then go deeper to check those backlinks.

      Sometimes its cool to have a quick check to weed through the garbage.

      Do you think thats a good thing to do?

    I know many of You like Moz tools but actually Ahrefs and Majestic kill it with real data.
