I have been doing backlink analysis of few top pages (except authority blogs like techcrunch e.t.c) for a relatively new keyword. They have like 1000 backlinks already. So i checked all the links are from spammy forum, just a random link in between random text, full spam. but still they managed to rank top, Is it safe, If not how can i safely do forum posting

Only if it is in-context. Spammed forum blasts might be next on Google's hit list.

There are far too many factors involved when it comes to ranking to say that the only reason the site is ranking No1 is the backlinks pointing to it.

You say the keyword is a "relatively new" one. This implies that there may be very few pages trying to optimize for it yet. And the only page that is is going to get top stop.

Google indexes pages and pages hold page rank and authority too. Backlink posting on high authority threads can have great SEO benefit.
The difficulty sometimes lies in indexing such links. But again that has many variable factors too.

A big part of my SEO strategy.

I have a team of 5 employees who's sole objective is to create backlinks on forums.
Maybe not in this spammy way.
    I have a 3 pronged approach.

I would have all 5 join the 5 leading forums related to the market (25 Accounts) I was targeting. And have become active, helpful and respected members of the community.

    This has 3 major benefits.

Firstly I am going straight to my target audience and supplying them with relevant and helpful information regarding the subject (keyword).

Second I can use link recommendations that drive highly targeted traffic to my site.

And lastly, I can use the forum signatures for gaining backlinks from highly relevant websites to whatever the niche may be.

    Hope this helps.

Why wouldnt forum posting work? To his point, this is a great strategy. I typically post on forums related to my industry and this adds to overall conversions as well as quality backlinks. Google knows if you are posting on crappy forums and are spamming. Eventually that website will lose credibility and lose rankings.

  • Icodemachine,

As mentioned by David, forum posting can be a great way to both build backlinks (if the forum is do-follow) and increase traffic to your website. Spammy forum posting however is definitely not good for longevity on your website. Just be natural and helpful and it will work out.

This is the main problem in regards to building backlinks in general. Most get this anxiety and suddenly feel the need to create hundreds of backlinks in one week. For some reason many people still believe that success is born in a night.
The results are much better if you let it flow and simply contribute to forums with a high PR.

The bad news is obvious: building hundreds of backlinks in a week = free trip to Google's Sandbox. Not a happy place to be.

Yes, forum postings drive traffic and give backlinks to targeted websites. But if Google finds you as a spammy and irrelevant you will be punished.

If you want to know how to do forum SEO / forum-based branding campaigns right, study the titles on this forum's threads. Then do a search on google. A pattern will quickly emerge.

That, my son, is your answer

Like Kevin has stated above, there are so many factors involved in ranking a site. We really even know what Google is thinking when it comes to sig links. But many SEOs believe that those kinds of links are of low quality.

But again, they think far different from what Google does.

To do forum posting safely just use signature links to promote your site. And in this forum avoid direct linking at any cost.

    Remember this though.

Just because it is working for them and they are ranking using that approach right not, doesn't mean they will be ranking with that approach in 4 weeks from now.

Also when you say its a forum link its not the traditional forum profile link from what I understand, but more like starting a post on a forum and publishing an article that includes a link correct?
