Hey guys,

Still a newbie, but learning SOO much through this forum. As a matter of fact I have gotten my website on page 4 of Google on all data centers for a very Competitive/Profitable Keyword.

Does anyone have any tested case studies or experience/tips to get from Page 4 to page 1. For the past 3 months I have had 1 full time content writer cranking out unique articles daily relative to the key word, and I also have 2 full time off shore link builders that have both been focused strictly on this keyword with one way back links (article submissions, Press Releases, Comments, Directory Submissions, Squidoo, etc...)

On Yahoo Site Explorer - (Except from this Domain) we are averaging about 120 new links daily.

I welcome everyone's feedback and advice!!

Thanks

-Jason

    Hey Jason,

Quality backlinks are always better than the quantity of backlinks. If you were to link your site to High Page Rank authority sites, you would defiantly get on the first page in Google. I ranked on the first page in Google in less than two weeks by linking my website to High Page Rank sites. Check out my WSO, you will get 50 High Page Rank Backinks, and the best part is that it's free!

Backlinks are extremely profitable it u are back linked by a highly ranked page
      i mean a quality backlink
For instance,u have 100 baclinks from different sites which have low rank less visitors let us consider 40 per backlink then 100x40=4000 visitors to that page and may be about 25% may visit ur page

Let us consider u have 50 backlinks which have a good rank and a unique visit of 120 then 120x50=6000!! let us consider about 30% will visit ur page

From the above example u can see that it depends on quality of baclinks but not quantity of back links

      Good luck

I have a case study on that in my Sig. But, It sounds like your phrase might be a lot more competitive than the ones in my case study so I'm not sure if it will help.

It sounds like you are doing what you need to do, probably it will just take you more time. With all the money you are putting into getting links, have you thought about using PPC?

I would rather invest in Organic Results then waste my money on PPC. My keyword is Wedding Favors, and currently my site is on page 4 after only 2.5 months. That is with 2 fulltime 50 hour per week link builders working only on this keyword and a Full time content writer cranking out article after article with Wedding Favors in it.

Agreed with points above... it's not about link quantity... it's about link quality. One single, quality link could do more for your site than thousands of garbage links.

Have you purchased a link from the Yahoo Directory? Best of the Web?

Did you do all the basics? Keyword phrase in Title tag, description meta tag, sprinkled in H and P tags, bolded, emphasized?

Are you focusing on 1-2 keyword phrases per page? Trying to rank for many phrases essentially dilutes your ability to rank for anything.

Are you using Content Hierarchy well? (1 H1 tag, a few H2-3 tags, P tags) Content Hierarchy communicates to Google what your page is about. The more coordinated your keyword phrases are used across all tags, the better. All your content should be in H or P tags. I see a really bad trend with web designers that still use tables... they don't use any H or P tags... this is a REALLY BAD mistake. Using XHTML+CSS kind of forces you to use content hierarchy better.

Speaking of XHTML+CSS... does your site validate??

Lastly, research "internal linking strategy". This is often overlooked my inexperienced SEOs. Internal linking with keyword focused anchor text is important.

thanks for all your tips, I plan on doing all of this stuff as soon as our new design goes up. Right now our design is just basic. We are about 2 weeks away before I start to pay for the Good PAID directories and focus on the ON-PAGE tactics as well as my internal deep link strategy.

    Hi Jason,

I agree with much of the advice you have received here with one significant exception. Like some folks suggested the quantity is not as important as the quality of the links. However, PageRank is not a qualitative measurement. PageRank is strictly a quantitative measurement.

The most important factor is the relevance of the linking page, followed by the authority. Irrelevant pages do not pass authority and provide very little help to your rankings. High PR pages linking to your pages, that are not relevant, do not help your page's authority.

Since a page's authority is not disclosed, you must rely on factors that can be measured, such as how high the page ranks in SERPs and how much targeted traffic the page receives. focusing on quality links, using these factors to determine quality, you will see your own pages earn more authority and rise in the SERP rankings.

The important thing is to get high quality one way backlinks to your site. Always try to get backlinks from sites with a higher PR than your own. Otherwise just keep on doing what you are doing right now. You'll see that you'll have much more success in the near future.
