Google Takes 48hrs to Index my Blog Post

Google now takes 2 days to index my blog post, they used to be indexed with 20 mins for the first several months, then for other reasons, I only made a few blog post over a 2 month period.

Now for the last few weeks I have been posting about twice a day and still a long indexing time on this WP blog. I have a PR4 site with a blog on it.

Any ideas?

This is not a unique problem, I also face the same problem everyday. It is because of some inbuilt algorithm of Google that allows faster indexing of pages if they are added on regular intervals. Even if you have PR4 site still this algorithm of Google will apply.

I own a PR3 website but still I have to face the same problem. One time it took 7 days for Google to index my webpage because I updated my blog after 1 month.

Note: Make sure you have submitted proper xml sitemap to google and use any service like feedburner to ping Google when any new post is submitted. (Still no guarantees that your post will be indexed faster)

Everyone got this problem but we can't force to Google to index early. If your site having with daily fresh content then it can be done but you are posting weekly or monthly then we can't do anything to index quickly.

GOOGLE Crawling rate depends upon your posting frequency. The faster you post content the better will be crawl rate. Since you lower the posting frequency for few months your crawl rate is lower now.

Keep posting new content like this and your crawl rate will be improved soon. I had also experienced the same problem but it will automatically sorted with time. Dont worry. One thing you can do is to install cbnet ping optimizer plugin so that your domains is not listed as ping spammer due to wordpress repeated pinging.

There is no relation of PR with crawl rate.

Although i might agree with rest of your post but this. Google certainly does take into account PR while determining how often should it crawl a site. At least this is what i have experienced.

I had seen at least 10 tech blogs with PR 1 or PR 2 or some with even 0 getting indexed much more quicker than my own PR5 site :p

Have you set a list of ping sites for your-own-domain (.) com /wp-admin/options-writing.php ?

This way can boost a new page to be indexed by Google faster.

I have a self hosted WP blog PR0 -> a new blogpost can be indexed by Google in less than 1 hour.

@ OP - while waiting for the crawl rates to get "back on track" use "Fetch as Google" in WMT. Works splendidly

Well, one of my sites' pages indexed within 10 seconds, I don't know why it is too fast..

Actually, I have put a good list of pinging sites in wordpress setting, I think it is the main point.

I fail to see the problem people are claiming this is. Indexing has nothing to do with ranking , traffic increase or anything to do with making money. Worry about your rankings not how fast the content shows up in search engines. Its not like Google reads your new content and decides to buy things from you or click on an ad. two days 2 hours so what?

It is very hard to understand what goes on with Google. My site is only PR1 and it get ranked and index immediately after I post. I can post something and when I check after posting, it is already in page 1 and 2 of Google Search. Weird though.
