Linking Adwords with Google Analytics

Hi everyone,

My adwords account has not been set to track conversions. Google analytics has been set up for this, so I know which keywords are converting.

It would be easier to look at the conversions data in Adwords so that I can see which keywords are performing best.

I have put in the code so that Adwords will track conversions going forward. I was wondering if there is a way to upload the existing data from Analytics into Adwords so that I can see how performance has been so far?

Thanks

    Hi ShaunQ,

You are not able to import conversion data into AdWords accounts, at least no way that I know of. You can take the data from Analytics reports and merge it with data from AdWords in a spreadsheet application (like MS Excel) to see the combined information in a single report.

I have found it very useful to use the AdWords Conversion tracking feature as it gives you more reliable and timely conversion data than you get from GA. Plus there are things you can do with that data within your AdWords account that you cannot do with GA data. I recommend that you start tracking the conversions inside your AdWords account and just go from this point forward, and use a spreadsheet to view the combined data for dates prior to implementation.
