The best way to feature a product and boost it through serp?

Suppose I have a site with several products, articles and blogposts,
but all I need is to rank for one specific product, boosting it on the first page.

Now, my keyword which also happens to be the name of the product can be found on many pages even within the context, so I'm thinking to place context links on a number of pages all pointing to my product, using this single keyword.

So that would be about 20 context links form different pages...

Would they all give some importance and boost to my page, or would they be assumed repetitive and thus non-important? (Assuming I already linked to it from my homepage and the products section).

Is there also any possibility that the google could slap my LP for the repetitive anchor texts for the context links, even if they come from my own site and the blog?

I believe google will not slap your slap for using the same anchor text for internal linking. For me I normally use some variation in anchor text. But I think you're okay though.

If they're highly relevant, then they're relevant. When it comes to internal linking, Wikipedia is always a great example. When it comes to internal linking between pages, the same anchor text or slight variations, if highly relevant, can do only good. It's when it comes to the off-page/link building side of things where it becomes a bit trickier (needing much variations n' all that jazz).

Thanks I'll give it a try then.
As of now even my articles about benefits rank higher than the product itself, so I'm going to place some links and see how it turns out.

Thanks for noting, I never thought of that. Now I'm getting some reassurance. Though there are some differences, with wikipedia, that most of the articles are getting links on their own, while my links are manly pointing to the homepage. Guess I'll have to build some backlinks for my articles as well.
