This is how i did it.
Firstly I amounted 450 backlinks in 3 days on an EMD. I dont think google likes this.
Heres the deal which ones didnt google like?
All on my links came from 10 sites.
I got 15 links from forum sigs on 4 relevent forums.
15 came from 4 different directories
and about 400ish came from 2 posts on irrelevent sites? Site wide.
What do you reckon upset google?

Congratulations. 450 links from 10 sites (of which only 15 are from 4 forums, leaving 435 links on 6 sites, right?)? That's your problem right there.

I don't think 450 backlinks is enough for sandbox, this is probably Google dance. With some luck, you should be back in 2-4 weeks.

You think it may not of been google that the 10 sites you blasted that many links from got pissed and reported you?

I do more links then that on a daily bases to some sites and have no problems but not from 10 sites

Directories are spammy and too much of it could be an issue. Also, sitewide links are probably not good either. It could be either of the above or both of them contributed!

It depends to the directories. Established directories with high pr would be never be assumed as spam (even if they do some spammy listings on there).
Don't get me wrong though, the pr you should be looking at is the pr of the category where you are listed, not just home page.
You just got to distinguish them. In addition they shouldn't have much listings on them, and the structure should be the simplest, otherwise with the many-tiers categories they always get slapped and listings get pr: N/a - and you get slapped next.
And even spammy directories have categories that retain high pr, and are still valuable and can pass huge loads of authority. So I would never count out the directories.

I reckon your spam software was set to the max and you hit enter a bunch of times to submit it.
