Facebook ad, pending review, 2 days now...

I posted my first Facebook ad the other day... in the health niche.

I bid a couple of cents above the min bid... .63c... which is still pretty high.

I used a $50 coupon.

My ad is still pending review after 2 days... is this normal?

I've no experience with Facebook ads.

My ad is linking directly to a CB product page (I was following an old report, 2010)

I've no experience with Facebook ads... had a quick look online, 24 hours seems to be the expected wait...

That's a little awkward. I just started a new Facebook campaign, it only took two hours for it to get approved. Most of my campaigns get approved in less than a few hours.

I would have it a bet the issue is direct linking to an affiliate product.

They don't like that stuff. Besides, it won't work very well anyway. People are not on Facebook looking for things to buy. You need to approach them in a different manner.

It's something that's actually pretty common, so don't worry about that. It'll take some time for them to approve, especially since you're using a new account.

Yep.. But if it is more than 5 days, then I guess you need to do something... either contact FB or modify your ad...

Call them, or email them for consideration.

My guess would be that the category of Health could be the issue. It is likely a random flag. The FTC rules are much more strict about health claims and the like.

    For what it's worth...

    Same thing happens to me.

What I do is click on "Create Similar Ad" and create 3-4 ads with slight variation in the title, copy, or image.
Or it could be a slight variation in your ad targeting.

Creating 3-4 similar versions of the same ad doesn't mean it will take 3-4 times the time to get approved. Doing this, some variations of the ad get approved within minutes.
