You hear it all the time. People want to rank their pages, articles, blogs on top of Google. And they can't understand why on EARTH Google doesn't want to do that. But nobody shows what exactly they're trying to rank. I fear that if we got a glimpse of what people here are trying to rank... Maybe a lot of us would say, "maybe it's a good thing they can't rank that".

How many people on here can actually reveal the content that Google should favor over somebody else? Is that information really so much better that it should be favored over your competitor? Can anybody here show me an example of your page being so much better than your competitors that it deserves that #1 spot?

Just a thought.

Posting a money site or keyword on this forum would be the equivalent of throwing yourself in front of a bus. There's a lot of desperate folks that won't hesitate to scrape your site If they think they'll make money.

I can't imagine why anyone would post their game plan & site on an IM forum, that's just reckless.

Well you can do a simple test. Show 2 pages to your friend (or two). One yours, the other your competitor's. If your friend/s prefer your competitor, you probably don't deserve to outrank them. And if your content is better than your competitor's, then you shouldn't have a problem promoting it and getting links. That's kind of my point. I think people that have a problem ranking websites are those that really don't add any value to the pool - hence they need to fool the search engines to like them.

Good content has little to do with ranking websites.

I wish people would stop misquoting google.

Everybody and their dog assumes they should be #1.
