AFTER You write an original article on your website...

I have a few financial websites that are PR3 and PR4. They are about 6-10 years old and I have always written original articles/content. They rank well in the SERPS.

My question is this...After I write an article (typically every 30-45 days), I typically DO NOT place the content anywhere else. Not article directories or anywhere else. I'm sure there are other websites that scrape my content and put it on their site.

My question is...Should I be placing that article somewhere else for extra effectiveness? I social bookmark (StumbleUpon, Reddit etc...) but that's about it.

Thanks!

Of course you have to do that!

  • Wait a few days after you have confirmed that Google has indexed your article. If you post your article to article directories before it has been indexed on your site, Google will consider your copy as duplicate. Whenever you post, make sure that your authorship is established at each place and then Google can keep track of each instance with you being as its author. You will get back links and traffic.

If someone else is doing it (and I have seen them put my articles in their blogs), I hope I am not getting penalized.

"make sure that your authorship is established"

I understand what you are saying but how do you do it? That is, if after they are indexed, let's say I put the same article in GoArticles. Other than my name and account information, how would Google know it is me?
