Thanks for viewing this thread, here is my question.

1. How do you pick an amazon product to promote?
2. How do you get low competitive keywords.
3. Does posting QUALITY content (product reviews) regularly or consistenly for a very long time, i mean 1-3months makes your site authority? and does it guarantee you rank for long tail keywords?
4. Whats is the difference between this type of keywords "best camera reviews" and a product name "canon t2i review"? which one of them is the best keyword to pick for example

Amazon is giving me headache, am tired but i dont want to give up. am also hard working but when things dont go as planned it frustrates me, please help

    1. I start with a niche I know something about and then search Google for product reviews of it. If the first page is mostly low PR pages, I go for it.

    2. See #1 above.

    3. Not necessarily and no, it doesn't guarantee anything.

    4. "canon t2i review" is the better choice as it indicates the searcher is later in the buying cycle and closer to making a purchase.

But if you search google for the product review such as "camera ti243 review" wouldnt all the potential competition mainly have low pr page for this product if using your strategy as new/low competing products because the product itself is new? Or maybe Im not understanding?

More often than not, yes, that would be correct.

    Hey,

Picking an amazon product should be easy: price more than $50, lots of positive reviews and great rating.

I do thinks a little differently. I believe product name queries like your "canon t2i review" are tough to rank for because google favors already established authority sites (like amazon itself) even though they're not particularly optimized for the query you're targeting.

I like to focus on problems people have and then offer an amazon solution...

Here are couple of problems canon t2i can solve:

    > how to shoot quality photos in dim light
    > best photo camera for moving pictures
    etc...

Ther is zero commercial value in this search. People conducting this search aren't looking to buy anything. They probably already have a camera and they are trying to take better pictures. This is a poor term to target when trying to capture buyers.

      > best photo camera for moving pictures
This is slightly better but, again, not too much commercial intent. This person is just beginning his research and is nowhere near the end of the buying cycle.

    1. I never choose one product, i choose a broad niche that has many products. Why? Because if you are looking to make an authority site, you will need a lot of content and also with authority you will be able to rank for highly competitive terms (think mini laptops, amplifiers..). Inside the broad niche i then do keyword research for longtail product keywords, write reviews, news articles.. and then make links with many many different anchors.

    2. Low competition keywords are usually longtail keywords that not many are yet targeting, you find them with deep research through the GKT. Think like this, you can get 5x 200-400 monthly searches keywords to page 1 much easier then 1x 5,000 monthly searches keyword and with the longtails your can also boost bigger keywords.

    3. No, it doesn't mean that you will start ranking, because for you to be able to rank for keywords, you need backlinks and link juice. Sure if you write good content, people might eventually link to you, but that doesn't happen in a few months..

    4. I would work with both. Start "canon t2i review" and similar longtail keywords and also slowly build on " best camera reviews" and also many many others. Always work towards getting hundreds of keywords to page 1, rather then just a few..

If you have any other questions, i will happy to answer them

Here's the type of keywords to target, example:
    • best canon ef lens

In other words, take any expensive product (camera) & match an expensive accessory (camera lens).

If the searcher already spent a lot of money (camera), they won't have a problem spending even more money on the expensive accessory (camera lens).
