Buying Adsense Websites

Hi WF,

Does anyone buy adsense websites? There seems to be a few for sale on flippa and similar websites but not sure about making a purchase. If anyone has bought one, what have your experiences been like? Are they making you money?

I bought two. One earnt a bit but it's not really in a niche I'm interested in (outdoor toys), and Google have made it clear that it doesn't want to rank these types of site anymore.

The other was an EMD and a huge waste of money.

I see no reasons why you can't buy an adsense site so long as it ranks well, the traffic is there and the income is nice...

Google is just after low quality sites an ill-experience users of it's program..

you don't need to look for any adsense website, just find a website with your traffic requirement and purchase it. you can then place your adsense ads on the site.

Exactly, it's not about a site that currently has Adsense, it's all about the targeted traffic.

IMO, a site with multiple sources of verified niche traffic is worth a lot more money than a site that depends on the SERPs for all it's traffic.

I probably would not do it unless you really know what you are looking for. I bought one at the start of my journey and it wasn't worth it (for the adsense income, anyway). It was good as a test case but never made me any money. It lost its ranking quite soon after purchase. Remember that a Google algorithm change can destroy your ranking and the site is suddenly worth absolutely nothing.

I would never invest in one without having built one before or at least doing very thorough research. You need to look at so many factors to determine whether it has a good profile. You sound like a newbie (in Adsense, anyway) - do a bit more reading and building before thinking about buying. I would say the money is in the selling rather than the Adsense income, so you want to be in the other camp!

You have to do some due diligence before buying an adsense website on the flippa/
Flippa is providing the confirmed earnings of the websites.
Make sure the website is making consistent profit since 6-12 months!

No dear, I didn't buy any adsense site because I have my own couple of sites and I also suggest you to make your own which is good for you.

Well I don't buy adsense sites as I worked on a site from scratch and then add adsense.I saw many adsense sites sold on Flippa.I know some sites really make a good amount of money but you gotta be careful in case of buying an adsense site until you are sure about the traffic source,traffic quality and amount and proof of adsense revenue.

My advice to you is to be ruthless about figuring out whether or not the site in question is receiving legitimate traffic and is playing the white hat game in terms of SEO. As others have mentioned, it's not about how it's being monetized but rather whether or not it is getting targeted traffic.

If you know the site is getting sustainable targeted traffic then you know you'll make money. You could even make more money depending on how you choose to monetize.

It would probably be more cost effective to pay content writers and designers if you need them using the money you would have used to buy a second hand website. Making your own is safer as you know there hasnt been crap spammy seo done on it etc. Also it is far more satisfying making your own from scratch.

Before buying any adsense site , please check the traffic sources (if possible). There are certain PTC sites which are used by many people before selling it on Flippa.

If you don't checkout for the right traffic source to that site which you are buying, then there are chances that you can loose your adsense account.

I wouldn't buy any Adsense sights that received the EMD penalty. Unless the seller can show proof of current traffic and so on. I notice some people are selling EMD sights for under $50...that got whacked by the update. Would you buy a website like that?

In my experience i bought one adsense website 2 years ago. But its not earning more for me. So i am planned to build own websites and i did SEO and get more visitors and earnings.

We just listed some adsense sites for sale a few hours ago and have a few still available here.

I'd have to agree with others, though, and say that if you have more time than money you're better off building them yourself. We walk you through the entire process for free on our blog. Aside from the fact that it's cheaper...the skills you'll learn by getting started will be extremely valuable to you in the long run.

Lots of comments about ranking - which is the key - Pure Adsense sites rely on ranking and if that changes your income drops (I have gone from $1000 a month down to less than $100) - you ares at the mercy of Google - not good if you want to feed your family....

It would be good if you learn to create websites and earn money rather than buying websites, when you buy a site, servers are changed then your ranking would be affected and it needs maintenance so you have to do maintenance work if you don't know much how would you do that.
