Wordpress outranking Blogspot

A month back, I created a free blog on blogspot. However, out of curiosity, 1 week later, I created a similar blog, with same subdomain name on wordpress just to check how they both rank on Google.

The Blogspot one already contained a couple of blog posts, but not the wordpress; I had started configuring it, but then stop midway because I had other urgent things to take care (but i hadnt given up on the idea).

2 weeks later, that is, right now, the wordpress blog, which has no proper blog posts has outranked my blogspot blog. I read around that blogspot usually ranked better than wordpress, but wordpress was great for its amazing plug-ins. These results, however, show otherwise.

I'll be grateful if someone could shed some light on the matter.
Thanks.

I think wordpress subdomains are more SE friendly because you can boost from plugins. But after your result now i`m 100% is true. It seems that wordpress is more friendly then blogspot.

You come to that conclusion based on 1 unverified result?

Most WordPress plugins add nothing to SEO and in a lot of cases they hinder SEO by bloating the site and slowing it down.

Not to mention a lot of plugins are an open invitation to hackers.

And they leave a lot of footprint!

I don't think anyone knows why, there are too many ranking signals the algo measure to determine ranking. I think generally, blogspot blogs rank higher though.

Yes,there is not doubt, wordpress is much more search engine friendly than blogspot because of its plugins which makes it search engine friendly. But there are lot of things which we need to take care while we optimize a wordpress website or blog.
I think, if your content has good quality then doesn't matter, you are posting it on blogspot or wordpress.

How do wordpress plugins make it more search engine friendly? I thought blogger has SEO built-in already so it's optimizied for search engines.

      That is complete nonsense.

If anything Wordpress is full of bloated code.

I understand though. In your silly quest to get your post count up today (I believe this is about 30 posts in the last 15 minutes), you were probably just running out of things to say.

I tell you what there's been some pretty lousy threads and posts in this sub section of the forum in the last couple of hours and some of the comments and indeed the OP as well is just full of so much mis information and statements that are completely false, like the one about meta tags, but I digress. For anyone still wondering there's nothing special about Wordpress over any other platform and indeed like others have said it can get very slow if there's too much going on.
