Is it not coming up for specific keywords or not indexed?

    Search for this in Google:

    site:yourdomain.com

Is it a brand new site? Have you found it in Google in the past? Might it just not be indexed yet?

Can you post the domains or give some more info about what you've done so far to get them in Google? Did they used to be in Google but then disappeared?

      No, not yet, anyway!

They're just sometimes slow to index new sites.

If you link to your site in your Warrior Forum sig-file, that will help, because this site gets re-indexed continually (because of its constant new content). A few backlinks from regularly re-indexed sites will help, anyway. Google will notice the backlinks to your site and put it in the index. It's normally fast, but it can occasionally be slower for no obvious reason.

Mass/automated backlinking on thousands of non-related sites can get your site de-indexed, but more usually it just gets your site heavily penalized for SEO. Never use software to build backlinks! :p

As long as you are building links naturally and are not doing anything shady on-site (things you would have to study up on how to do them...and would then have to do them), you should not have to worry about your site getting banned!

Did you check the metawords in the html code? it is located between the <head> </head> section ... or you can use an alternative way of search words / indexes

That's just for Wordpress platforms. You may want to check your Robots.txt if its a static site to see if you have a nofollow anywhere. This could prohibit the search engines from indexing your root.

How long has it been since you launched the site and also have you submitted it using webmaster tools?
Agreed this is a crutial step to follow up on when your submitted it to the search engines. With Google check the Webmaster tools and with Bing check their webmaster tools. Follow up with them and if you site doesn't have anything unusual on it then you'll be fine. Just be patient.

You should have made this thread in the SEO forum for better responses.

Many others have responded to it, and these are good answers. Let me summarize.

      1. If you type "site:yourdomain.com" (without quotes, and replace by your actual domain name) on Google and don't find it, then you need to index the site. Some earlier posts tell you how to index.

      2. If you do find your site on Google by the step above but don't find your website across all the Google search results (or possibly don't find your website on the top page of Google but do find it in another latter page on Google) then you need to do "search engine optimization" (SEO) to appear higher in the Google search results.

I hope the above explains your first step. How do you do SEO is a major topic on its own. For that, read up this forum or Google it up.
