Basically, I have the Google analytics dashboard plugin on wordpress, I added my code to my footer and it seems to be working fine, showing 86 views on the dashboard.

When I log in to the actual google analytics website, it shows 0 activity on my site, as if it's never been seen?

Really really confused, how can it be working on wordpress but not on the site directly?

Have you pasted the code correctly?

If it wasn't correct would the plugin still work?

Your Google analytics code should appear at the top of your page before the closing </head> tag.

Yes, I would agree that you have not put it in correctly.

For additional help, use the Google Analytics help facility (it's quite good).

Hmm.. To be honest I don't know how I could get a simple copy and paste wrong however I have now done the following:

        disabled all related plugins
        copied code to footer.php manually

If this doesn't work then what more can I do...

It's awful, I clicked help and there were no options even relevant to my problem

Try to put your analytics code where your header tag ends.

Okay I just noticed real time is working, says 2 people are currently on my blog.

The "standard reporting" page shows no results still???

        Just to clarify...

I now have the code in my head tag. Analytics tells me it's installed correctly and real-time tracking works fine.

The Google Analytics dashboard widget seems to be working telling me I have 115 page views.

So the only thing that isn't working is when I click on standard reporting, which tells me I have had 0 visitors and no activity what so ever

When you click on Standard Reporting, you get results for previous days (not including "today"). Analytics can't go back in time if the code wasn't on the page.

Please check whether your code is added properly in home page before </head> section of your page. If not showing the GA Code means its not inserted properly and this will ultimately lead to nothing showing up in google analytics.
