on your site.

What you want is a "contact the webmaster" link. Sell your own ad links,
but don't advertise it.

I sell private to advertisers privately, not through AdSense, through an "Advertise on my blog" link. December 1st I'm signing a $240 deal for twelve months selling all visitors from one city to a dealership located in that city, through Google DFP for small businesses.

In other words, I use your idea of a link to "advertise on this blog", but I offer geo-targetted advertisements, and use Google DFP to make sure advertisers get only what they're looking for. It doesn't make sense for my customer to advertise outside of their city. I also know I won't make $20/month from one city alone, so by offering them only one city, for $20/month, for a year (pre-paid), I get a guaranteed, easy $240.

If you have a high amount of traffic, media agencies would be willing to buy your entire inventory for a year and manage it for you, usually paying a fair amount.

It doesn't increase the CPC, but it can invite AdSense to ban you if you use risky words like "Click here" etc
