Paid traffic to build email list

I was thinking about giving away an ebook in exchange for an email opt-in. Clearly this is nothing new, but I just have a few questions if anyone has experience doing this. The plan would be to use adcenter and pay as little as possible per click, and build a large. I would use a squeeze page first with the free ebook, asking for the user's email that would then redirect to a sales page with many products available for purchase. At the very bottom of the page the ebook would be available for free download.

1. Would this sort of campaign be cool with microsoft adcenter?
2. What kind of budget would I need to test to see if this is worth it?
3. Would pof be a better alternative or is the dating niche only good to offer on there?

Any suggestions are appreciated!

            I am giving away an ebook.I set the traffic to worldwide.Got nearly 30 subscribers from 2500+ ad impressions.I think there is something to be improved in my squeeze page!

    Hi,

    I think $25 per day can be sufficient to test if your traffic is good enough or the campaign is converting, etc... but can you afford that advertising budget?
    adf.ly has cheap CPM advertising, or I think you can try to advertise with banners for cheap in people's website, you can search manually to ask people to put your banners in their website. But make sure you have sufficient volume
