Dear community,

I plan to build an anchor-layer with blogs, web 2.0 properties, etc. for my website, pretty much following this blog post: THE Backlinking Strategy That Works

The author of this post recommends Unique Article Wizard to get authority for the anchor layer. From my understanding this tool is not worth its money anymore today.

So I am wondering, which of these options is the best in terms of value for the money:
  • Go for Unique Article Wizard anyway
  • Buy a tool such as MagicSubmitter or SENuke
  • Pay someone, to do the backlinking on the anchor layer

What should I put my money in?

Best regards,
rmvw

How many sites do you plan on ranking, and how long do you want them around? If you're only going to rank a few, I'd suggest paying for these links as a service. There are tons of places that you can buy all of these link types cheaply these days. Look around on the relevant forums (not sure what I'm allowed to post here in terms of linking to other forums, etc., or what the marketplace is like on this forum yet).

Also, if you want these sites to be around for longer than a year, I'd stay away from tactics like these. Work on building real links from properties that will send you referral traffic. Gaming Google has gotten much harder in the last year, and is likely to get harder still. It used to be that you could rank easily by throwing these kinds of links at a property. Now the results are hit and miss, and you often get penalized after the links have aged for a couple of months. Even EMD's aren't working the way they used to.

Again, if you want to get traffic for your site, I'd focus on building links that will send you real traffic. There are all kinds of ways to do that, and every one of them will build your authority in Google's eyes, ultimately causing you to rank anyway.

Just so you know... Pat Flyn includes a bunch of updates throughout that post. You no longer want to create an "anchor layer." It's for better to use www(dot)yourdomain(dot)com these days.

Also, I wouldn't use any publicly advertised blog networks. Such as BMR used to be...

Really, I wouldn't use this strategy at all anymore....
