Advice regarding subdomain or subfolder

Hi everyone, I'm about to launch a new sports shop that will focus on 3 different sports. Would you guys recommend me to structure the domain with subdomains tennis.example.com, soccer.example.com etc or with subfolders example.com/tennis etc.

Very good question here. There are a lot of opinions floating around the web about this one. I’m assuming you are asking which of these approaches is better for SEO? If so, I would say that the sub-directory route is better because all of your content is really on one website. If your goal is to make separate websites then the subdomain would be better however you may just want to buy other domains if you are going to make separate sites.

Hi guys thanks for the answers! Makes sense, especially since I already operating these sites on different domains and wanted to combine them to under one brand name/umbrella. Once again thanks for the help guys planning to start the new site with sub-directories.
